This guy doesn't often get out of his clothes. A little stock work provided an opportunity to see the workings without the wood. Dummy bullets, of course, holey, as it were, for a Sunday.

It's kind of awkward to hold, but braced against the bench there I can slowly slide the enbloc in and watch things line up. I can put the safety on an off, and slip a round into the chamber, drop the hammer, and eject dummy. Kind of like The Visible Garand.

Is that a cmp reconditioned? The one i am suppose to eventually get from my dad is not grey , but that well worn blue finish. But he bought his in 1972.

Nah, this is a mix master of the first order. I got the .308 barreled receiver in a trade for some Finns, sans stocks. I got the three pieces of the stock from three different places, and I am working on getting matches out of a pile of hand guards I have now. I want to stay with beech, finished with pine tar. Since it's a Franken-1, I will mess with it some. The Springfield receiver is 1942 and the .308 barrel is 1995 from the Fulton Armory. No matching arsenals among the rest of the parts. It shoots nicely. My bayonet fits, so that's cool. Trying different slings. Dig the peep.

Personally, I would prefer a shooter like that. And building it you know it inside and out. It looks damn good. My dads is a 30-06, but I actually like 308 better. Not as painful on the old shoulder..

Mossberg Patriot 308 with scope kit from Buds. $321, shipping included. Another $20 for my transfer.
I like it! The plastic stock is not the greatest, but they do make replacements that I may end up getting down the road. The Bolt is smooth as glass, and the adjustable trigger is really nice. I could find nothing on what kind of scope comes on these set ups, but mine came with a Dead Ringer scope- 3x9x40. Not a premium scope, but it will have to do for now. My only disappointment is that I wont be able to get to the range to try it as I am having my knee removed and a bionic one installed this next Tuesday, so it will be a while before I can shoot it.

Advantage of the stock is its impervious to weather and so on. I like the bolt. Can the knob screw off? Might be a thing for KlownKannon to check out, eyeball or something. True about wooden replacements. Importance is how it fits--another advantage of that stock, as it's user-adjustable with persistence. Dogs rule, and they start out as adorable puppies.

Not a heavy barrel, just 5 flutes. The bolt looks pretty, fluted as well, and it actually is very smooth action on the bolt. I like how reviews on this gun talk about how the bolt flutes make the action so much smoother The fluted part of the bolt doesn't touch a damn thing.. Its pretty, and maybe lightens the bolt a half of an ounce at best. But does nothing as for bolt operation.

Nope, the bolt handle wont unscrew, but I dont think it would be that difficult to cut it off , use a file and a die and threat it for screw on handles.

Puppies are great, until your kid that begged you for it and promised to take care of it, doesnt clean up after accidents. And the more that happens, the more our other 2 dogs older dogs that have been well housebroken for years, think they can go in the house as well. But the puppy, a blue healer, is damn smart. We were playing the shell game with Solo cups and a dog treat, and within 5 minutes of introducing him to the game, he was so good we had to give up. He just knew where the treat was every damn time ! Plus, he crunched the cups up

Yeah, i was worried. Anything mass produced at a low price point it a gamble. Like shopping at harbor freight.. Lol.. But still dont know how it shoots, it still could be crap.

Harbor Freight is more like a Jimenez or Raven...

The grips are the ones that came with my Kimber Super Carry HD Custom that I replaced with the Stag. Fit right on there. I also replaced the shitty plastic black front sight with green fiber.

Funny, just found the frog in our pond today. Thought I'd share. Shoots accurate as I am, and I don't miss. Ok there was that one time. Shoots smooth which I did not expect.

Yes. A naked gentleman and a naked lady. The gentleman here is 381 mm of Prussian goodness, a 1916 Solingen butcher blade bayonet. Fits many Mausers. The naked lady blooms irregularly. This year, yep.



I'm going to have to sell two other k98 bayos because of this. Anyone need any?
