It’s so cold here in Ohio - here’s to spring shooting sessions coming up!

This is a little piece of public land where I go recycling in Northern MI. Recycling you say? The ignorant rednecks leave so much brass out there that I can spend hours collecting it and be set for reloading 5.56 & 9mm for years!

Every time I have a day to go shoot the wind kicks up of some other thing stops me. Last two days the wind has been running 35 to 45mph.
I love to go shoot in the forest service areas instead of a obnoxiously loud range with the concrete and tin roofs. However I worry if alone and get hurt it could be a problem.
Lucky you.

The picture was a reminiscence from late June. There’s no foliage on my land right now, so it’s way louder to shoot- so if I do, it’s just a mag or 2-3 cylinders. This is what it’s like right now:

My wife told me to stop my failed waterfowl hunting and get back on hunting Mr. Coyote.

And I’m in total agreement - I much prefer to shoot on rural public land - but it’s some distance from me here. That’s why I take advantage of it when we visit my parents in Northern MI.

Don't know how far north in Michigan you go, but the UP is home to many good memories for me.

Kalkaska - Mancelona Area. Not sure if you are familiar. Very rural, I love it.

Never been there, but I've heard that's a beautiful part of the state.

Not so much gun porn as range porn. Do we have a place for that? Don't think so. This is the main part of my local range with 4 covered shooting stations and targets out to 200 yards. There's also an archery range, and a pistol range (not covered) from 10 to 25 yards. Annual dues are $25, and I rarely see anyone there. Pretty sweet, and 20 minutes from the house.

Nice to see a wheelgun in its natural habitat. My drive is further but the local range is similar, and it costs more, but I enjoy a nice winter shoot.

Not sure black paper will provide enough contrast with that cloud cover. That's what colors are for.

Wow, that is quite a sight on that AR! What is it?

it's a fancy peep sight, a Gehmann Astigmatic Iris. It's very adjustable and has some ability to focus and a selection of color filters. I'm going to enjoy shooting with it once my adjustments are done.
