I've said it before, and I'll say it again: neoliberals are not our friends. They practice a similar trickle up economics but with politically correct companies and influencers. Still of rot.

I don't see Democrats kicking the neoliberals to the curb, Democrats are too addicted to the money neoliberals provide. Harris and Democrats raised over $1 billion this cycle, she outraised Trump by nearly 5-1 among last minute big donors according to Forbes. Like the 2016 election where HRC out raised Trump, what Democrats didn't learn in 2024 was that it's not the money but the message that draws in voters.

The Harris campaign is trying to dig out of debt nearly a week after losing on Election Day, with much of the spending going toward digital media, advertising, polling and travel between states. According to reports, the campaign spent six figures building a set for Harris’ appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with host Alex Cooper. A source familiar with the campaign confirmed to NewsNation that the campaign is $20 million in the hole after Nov. 5, even though the campaign took in at least $1 billion and reported $118 million in the bank as of Oct. 16.

Another big-ticket item was $15 million spent on event production that went toward celebrity performances, like the election eve rally with Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Harris also reportedly paid $1 million to Harpo Productions, which is owned by Oprah Winfrey, who did a town hall with Harris back in September and appeared at that election eve rally in Philadelphia. “It takes remarkable incompetence to spend $1 billion in 90 days, lose market share, allow Donald Trump’s election and end up in debt,” a Democratic source told NewsNation.

In some ways, the Harris campaign is still fundraising despite the loss, sending emails asking for donations. But those donations are partially being redirected toward a vote recount effort. When you click donate, that link takes you to Act Blue, and the fine print suggests the vice president’s campaign may be launching a recount effort. The fine print reads that the first $41,300/$15,000 from a person/multicandidate committee PAC will be donated to the Democratic National Committee, but the next $3,300/$5,000 would be donated to a recount account.

Yep. I've been saying this for a long time. If Liberals are that concerned about Trump and his supporters, then the obvious next set of actions are to:

A.) become a gun owner if you're not already one (I know people here generally are),
B.) get some ammunition and preferably learn how to reload your own ammo,
C.) take a course from a good instructor on how to safely and properly use your firearm, and
D.) get to the range and practice regularly, preferably at least two times a week if you can.

Liberals or Democrats? We know there is a distinction but I sincerely I don't think most of Trump's America sees the distinction. If one is not a MAGA Aficionado and is not armed, I believe one has not yet smelled what America has stepped in. It's way past time to be armed and trained.

I believe there should be a reckoning between classical liberals and neoliberals. The prize would be the heart of a movement on the left, but I don't hold out much hope. I think money will have a stronger pull than will ideology. But, hey. We'll have guns, a legitimate series of products on our store shelves, so we have that going for us. Plus, no Mommie in the White House to make us soil our tactical skivvies. Winning.

Pollster Patrick Ruffini makes some good points.
Donald Trump made another round of historic gains with nonwhite voters, flipping Miami-Dade County red for the first time since 1988, and outright winning South Texas, a mainstay of the Democratic Party for more than a century. The gains extended to swing states, where Trump made solid gains among Puerto Ricans in Allentown, PA and Dominicans in Hazleton, PA.

Overall, the exit polls show him within 10 points among Hispanic voters, making historic gains among Asian voters, and winning almost a quarter of Black men. And he did this while continuing to build on his gains with the white working class—and also gaining pretty much everywhere else. He further eroded the Democrats’ nonwhite working class majority to the low 30s, down from 67 points when Barack Obama was running for re-election in 2012.

For the first time, the income curve was inverted: that is, the Republican nominee won more support from low-income than high-income voters. Previously that was only true among whites, but now it’s true for all voters. We are starting to see a united front of working class voters across racial lines that will go so far as to change decades of established voting patterns to vote against uncontrolled illegal immigration, lax attitudes towards crime, and liberal ideas about race and gender that make absolutely no difference to them in their day-to-day lives.

Emblematic of this shift was Starr County, Texas, a 97-percent Hispanic county I visited while reporting on the book. It went from Clinton +60 to Biden +5 to Trump +16. This was the most Democratic county in the country in 2012. If you thought 2016 and 2020 were a fluke, yesterday confirmed they were almost certainly not. The Realignment is here to stay.
https://www.patrickruffini.com/p/the-bo ... 4-election

Starr County, Texas hasn't voted Republican since 1892. There are a lot of lessons for Democrats to learn from the last 3 elections, but I'm not confident that the Democratic Party will learn anything. That doesn't bode well for the 2026 midterm and the 2028 general election, they might surprise us but I'm not hopeful.

Republicans are projected to keep control of the House of Representatives, handing the party total control of Washington with President-elect Trump back in the White House in January.

Decision Desk HQ projected the House had won its 218th seat Monday, the number needed for a majority in the lower chamber.

This comes down to a mandate from the American voters. The Republican have won a trifecta. The next two years will be even more interesting than the last 4. I was concerned the Democrats would win a trifecta and disassemble the 2A (regardless of what Harris says....) but now it looks like the Republicans are temporarily in charge of the whole enchilada.

And Democrat Ruben Gallego beat Republican Kari Lake for the open US senate race in Arizona. Lake lost the AZ governors race and now the US senate race. Gallego thanked Republicans who voted for him. AP called the PA US senate race for Republican David McCormick but other networks haven't. AP explained why. A lot of vote splitting, a bellwether county in PA, Erie County voted for Republican Trump for president and Democrat Casey for US senate.

AP hasn't yet called the House but they're showing Republicans at 214 and Democrats at 205 and 16 races yet to be called, a large chunk are in CA.

Speaker Johnson already has one vacancy with Gaetz's resignation and will have two more, Elise Stefanik of NY will be Trump's UN ambassador and Mike Waltz of FL will be Trump's national security adviser, could be more.

Troubling study shows “politics can trump truth” to a surprising degree, regardless of education or analytical ability

A recent study by Stanford researchers has uncovered that people are more likely to believe and share news that aligns with their political views, regardless of whether it’s true. This “concordance-over-truth” bias was slightly stronger among supporters of Donald Trump and persisted across various education levels and reasoning abilities. Interestingly, resistance to true but politically opposing news proved stronger than susceptibility to fake but agreeable news, suggesting that political alignment often overshadows the truth in how people process information.

The findings have been published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General.

The researchers conducted this study to understand the extent to which political biases shape public beliefs and sharing behavior, especially during critical times like presidential elections. Recognizing that informed citizens are essential for a functioning democracy, they aimed to clarify whether people prioritize political alignment over truthfulness when processing news.

For their study, the researchers recruited 2,180 participants using the online platform Lucid from January 31 to February 17, 2020, aiming for a U.S. Census-matched sample based on gender, age, race, ethnicity, income, education, and region. After excluding 371 participants who failed attention checks or used mobile devices, a final sample of 1,808 participants remained.
