My thoughts too Wino. Routh's mobile pinged from 01:59 hrs. (1:59 am) until 13:31 hrs. (1:31 pm) from the road that parallels the golf course, he could have been sleeping in his SUV. Trump's golfing date wasn't on his published schedule, did Routh have insider info that Trump would be playing golf that day?

The bi-partisan US House task force that's been investigating the Butler, PA shooting is now involved in this one. They've asked for a full briefing from the Secret Service and the FBI. And DeSantis says that Florida will conduct it's own investigation. And the acting director of the Secret Service is asking for more funds.

The perp didn't get a chance to get a shot off because he was a hole ahead of Trump and his guest. A sniper who is intercepted before he shoots his target is still a sniper intent on killing someone.

To the MAGA Maniacs, this is conspiracy to eliminate Trump - how else did this guy get information that made him a threat? There are conspiracy theories everywhere but I'd think if these two attempts were conspiracies, they'd have armed their gunmen with equipment more capable of longer distance hits than semi auto firearms with scopes or red dots. Unless the conspiracy is to put more fuel on the fire for an "Assault Weapons" ban.

All of this is bizarre. Never saw this coming in my crystal ball.

Meanwhile, Haitian immigrants in Ohio are afraid to leave their homes amid threats and daily harassment thanks to the former president spreading vicious racist lies during the debate. Yet again, a man who arguably was, and may again be, the most powerful man in the world, attacking and endangering the most vulnerable and powerless. There won't be any Secret Service protection for them, will there?
Whatever I said above, just pretend I included the obligatory “both sides,” especially if I said something mean about Trump (don’t want to hurt any feelings).

I think he was hunting golf course gophers and turd was not his target! This guy looks a lot like Bill Murray in CaddyShack. Other than having an unregistered gun in possession of a felon, can't see much happening here. :sarcasm:

Live by the sword, die by the sword. Turd has brought this all on himself. I don't want him shot. I want him humiliated, debased, tarred and feathered and in prison.

Wino actually makes an important legal point with his CaddyShack joke. If the guy doesn’t plead guilty like a chump, the State will have to prove that he was indeed intent on shooting the president or any human being instead of pest control shooting for varmints or whatever. At most they can charge him for some misdemeanor possession charges but intent to kill or assassination? That’s a difficult bar to pass.

Likely the state will make some deal with the perp. This case will never reach a court trial.

I expect they may possibly find Stephen Miller's finger prints on the explosive. I also suspect we're gonna see a slue of false flag operations against turd until the election.

Give wonder if this was a setup deal to give more sympathy and support to TOS.

If these are wierd false-flag plans meant to gin up support for TOS, I believe it will not only fail to gain sympathy for the whiny bully but actually backfire in a very major way.

My greatest concern is an actual assassination attempt on candidate Harris while on the campaign trail. If she is injured or somehow forced to drop out of the race we will certainly see a President Walz winning the election in an historic landslide.

Fearful people are the most short-sighted and least effective at strategic thinking.

I don't know how you all can even be spewing this nonsense about "weird false-flag plans", "setup deal to give more sympathy and support", and such. He's already been shot at and hit, so the concern about it happening again definitely is valid. Were it, say, Biden or Harris, you wouldn't be taking this same attitude.

Seriously, there's something wrong in the head with anyone who laughs this kind of thing off, whether we like Trump or not.

I'm not laughing at all - I find it interesting that many have dismissed Trump's' followers as ignorant deplorables with no guts and not enough sense to mount any real real issues for America if they don't get what they want. Yet haven't both of the attempts (one attempt and one likely) been from Trump followers/sycophants who have become disillusioned? This is not good and I don't think any of our candidates at this point are safe.

The Hate and disinformation have gone too far when people start trying to kill candidates. Not a good scenario. And with the polls neck in neck I'd hate to be any SS Agents at this point.

The first one, in the PA shooting, was a donor to ActBlue, a Democrat Party "get-out-the-vote" organization. He later, apparently, registered as a Republican. So it's unclear whether he was a Trump follower or not. I tend to suspect that he was a Democrat supporter because he gave money to ActBlue, but again, I cannot be sure of his politics.

The second one, we know his name, but I haven't seen anything yet indicating that he either supports Trump or is against him. Given that it looks like he tried to take some shots at Trump, I'd guess that he's against Trump. But again, that's only a guess based on the act trying to shoot at Trump. Generally, when you shoot at someone, you're not exactly one of that person's supporters. :-)

It really is a shame that it's come to this, shooting at Presidential candidates. I've made it clear on several occasions, rather emphatically, that I do not want VP Kamala Harris to be our President, and I've indicated specifically why. But I would condemn any violence against her, or against Pres. Biden, in terms just as strong as I condemn any violence against Pres. Trump or any other political candidate--really, anyone else at all unless it is a life-threatening self-defense situation.

No one is condoning violence against turd or any anyone for that matter. The explosives found in vehicle seems to have already been proven wrong and not a third attempt of assassination. On the other hand, there is nothing that turd or his sycophants would not do that would be beyond the pale to ensure the POS is seen in a pitiful manner or as a victim. Any violence directed toward turd or any political figure lays at turds feet. He has single handed created the political animus we currently are experiencing starting Nov. 2020 to Jan 6, thru present day. If I'm alive when he passes, I will shed not a tear.

You really haven't been paying attention. Trump has made it very, VERY clear he will totally sell out Ukraine, mainly because he's a) in love with Putin and b) detests Zelenskiy for not fabricating false info about Joe Biden and the DNC. This possible would be assassin is a passionate fanatic about defending Ukraine, even trying to recruit Afghan refugees to fight for Ukraine.

Sounds like you're condoning this assassination attempt, and yes, tacit approval is still approval. I repeat, there is no place for this kind of violence, no matter who the candidate is.
