Trump Says He's Agreed To Fox News Debate, In Apparent Attempt To Avoid Harris On ABC

1
Former President Donald Trump said on social media late Friday that he’s agreed with Fox News to take part in a Sept. 4 presidential debate against Democrat Kamala Harris, before suggesting that the vice president hasn’t OK’d such a faceoff.

“If for any reason Kamala is unwilling or unable to debate on that date, I have agreed with Fox to do a major Town Hall on the same September 4th evening,” the Republican presidential nominee wrote in a since-deleted post on his Truth Social platform.

Trump — who has pushed for the next debate to take place on Fox News after Harris took President Joe Biden’s spot at the top of the Democratic ticket — later reposted his debate message on Truth Social, but without the talk of a town hall-style event.

In recent days Trump has questioned why he should debate Harris, and he was noncommittal about facing her in a Sept. 10 event on ABC News that he and Biden had signed onto before the president dropped his reelection bid.

Harris, who secured enough support from Democratic convention delegates to become her party’s presumptive nominee Friday, has said that she’d take Biden’s place in the Sept. 10 event and has emphasized that she’s “ready” to debate Trump.

The Republican nominee wrote on Friday that the ABC News debate has been “terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant.” He also cited an ongoing lawsuit against the network as a reason for the change, despite the fact that Trump was already engaged in litigation with ABC News in May when he agreed to the faceoff.

Harris had told an Atlanta crowd Tuesday that she hoped Trump would “reconsider” meeting her on the debate stage.

“As the saying goes, if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face,” Harris said at a campaign rally.

So TOS is skipping the debate with Harris unless she agrees to go on FOX News. That's like letting the Fox guard the henhouse. But TOS and FOX well shift the blame to Harris since they are totally unbiased in their reporting.

The ABC debate was an agreement with the Biden Campaign, Biden is no longer the nominee. Harris will be next week when she accepts the nomination and she can decide if she accepts the Sept 4th debate on Fox. Trump was desperate to get Biden in front of the cameras, so he agreed to a lot of things I doubt he'll agree to in the Fox debate. The Harris Campaign can rage on about the Sept 10th debate on ABC, but I think it's dead in the water.

The best solution for the debates is have one person from each major network, CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC, PBS, and FOX on the panel that asks the question from a question pool each network has submitted for the debate.. The questions submitted will be an equal number from each network and any duplicates will answered only once. The candidates will have only a set time to answer the question and there microphone well be cut off when they go over the time limit.

Trump claimed in a new Truth Social post that Harris "doesn’t have the mental capacity to do a REAL Debate" against him, doubling down on the Sept. 4 date he set with Fox News in place of the Sept. 10 event scheduled months ago with ABC News.

Trump picked a more favorable setting, complete with "A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE," after claiming that ABC was biased.

"I'll see her on September 4th or, I won’t see her at all," Trump said on his social media platform.

His comments suggest that he will not debate Harris on either date, as she has remained committed to the originally agreed-upon event.

I have said before, TOS is the elementary school playground bully that thinks he is the biggest baddest kid until somebody stands up to him and he then cowers down and whines whimpers when he doesn't get his way.

BTW Harris's little toe has more mental capacity than TOS.

Harris' campaign is now saying no Fox debate on Sept 4th and Trump has said no ABC debate on Sept 10th, so a standstill for now. Maybe there won't be any debates this year, that's fine with me. They'll keep taunting each other, that's politics and the media will keep reporting it as real news. It's like politics in a third world country.

A media outlet that has to pay nearly $900 million for slander and fake news is to be trusted to have a fair debate!

Trump ALWAYS has to stack the deck. He simply is incapable of fair play...he thinks only suckers don't cheat but NOBODY should be allowed to cheat against HIM!!!!

James Carville Explains Why Donald Trump Is 'S**tting In His Pants' Right Now

Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville mocked former President Donald Trump for dodging a scheduled debate with his 2024 election rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

The GOP nominee is “scared to debate a girl,” Carville taunted Trump on his “Politicon” show. Trump is “shitting in his pants because, as we pointed out before, all he does is shit and fart in his pants, and the whole thing is deteriorating, going to nothing,” Carville added.

Trump over the weekend bailed on ABC News’ Sept. 10 debate, which he’d originally agreed to participate in with President Joe Biden. Trump said he wants to go head-to-head with Harris on Fox News instead. Harris’ campaign hasn’t responded to the demand.

Carville later urged Harris to actually accept Trump’s Fox News debate plea and suggested it be held in New York City on Sept. 18.

“I think we should be gracious to former President Trump. He’s old, and he’s kind of losing it, but I happen to know he’s going to be in Manhattan on Sept. 18,” he explained. “Well, James, how do you know that? Because that’s the day they sentence his fat ass.” Trump will be sentenced that day after being found guilty on all 34 counts in his hush money trial.

“So, tell Fox you’ll be glad,” he urged Harris’ campaign. “You’ll show up in Manhattan. They got a studio there. I’ve been in it before, and we’ll have the debate on Fox on the night of Sept. 18. That’s what we should do. I’ll be checking back with you.”

Great idea let him debate while wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Trump Now Wants To Debate Harris 3 Times, Adds New Date With NBC

Beginning what was billed as a press conference with a lengthy speech, Trump said his campaign had agreed to a third debate on Sept. 25 with NBC News.

“I think it’s very important to have debates,” he said.

Trump agreed months ago to a Sept. 10 debate with Biden hosted by ABC News, but later said he would not honor the agreement, instead arranging a Sept. 4 debate to be hosted on Fox News — a more favorable network — after Harris took over as the Democratic Party's nominee. Trump appeared to say that he was willing to debate Harris on all three dates.

“I hope she agrees to them,” Trump said. “I think they’ll be very revealing.”

Harris has said she remains committed to the Sept. 10 event.

Interesting that he has now flip-flopped on having the debate. I just bet if they have one debate he will make excuses not to have anymore after she rips him a new in the first debate. Also I can see him losing his cool and start interrupting when she is trying to speak or making gestures and facial looks to distract from her replies or answers.

I think we will see him do a Waffle House before the 10th. If he doesn’t, if he goes through with the debate, NBC is going to rake in ad revenue like Super Bowl Sunday. And after that, TOS will likely cancel the other two debate dates, fake an aneurysm and surreptitiously leave the country. Melania would simply show up alone in NYC one day ignoring reporters.

Both presidential candidates have to get away from the teleprompters. The Harris campaign hasn't let her do a one-on-one interview or hold a press conference. Trump did a press conference yesterday at Mara-loco, I listened to some small chunks I can't listen to him continuously. He hit Harris on being anti-2A and Chicago on their strict gun laws and high number of shootings.

We'll see what happens during the debates.
