'A dark day for our country': Trump flips out and points fingers as felony trial looms

On Truth Social, he first began with, "Heading to Philadelphia and then to a BIG Rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania," before launching his diatribe.

"There is NO WAY I can be given a Fair (Biden) Trial on Monday with Judge Juan Merchan, who is totally conflicted and corrupt, presiding. Soros backed Alvin Bragg, the 'District Attorney' who has, along with his sidekick Leticia James, let violent crime flourish in New York, never wanted to bring this case because it is a sham and mockery of our legal system. He brought it anyway for purposes of saving the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!"

He then added, "Has Mark POMERANTZ been prosecuted for his terrible acts in and out of the D.A.’s Office. Has disgraced attorney and felon Michael Cohen been prosecuted for LYING?"

"Only TRUMP people get prosecuted by this Judge and these thugs! A dark day for our Country. MAGA2024!!!" he accused.

He continued, "WHY DIDN’T THE MANHATTAN D.A. BRING THIS RIDICULOUS & LAMBASTED CASE SEVEN YEARS AGO? Because they are corrupt and wanted to use it for purposes of Election Interference against Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent!"

The media frenzy has already started in Trump's NY criminal trial. Alvin Bragg was in the news recently saying it's not politically motivated, which is bullshit. Bragg took misdemeanors and upgraded them to felonies, the judge could very well dismiss some of the indictments and downgrade others. The judge refused to recuse himself even though he donated to Biden's campaign in 2020. Merchan said he consulted a legal ethicist and he doesn't have to recuse himself, but lawyers who have nothing to do with Trump, say he's required to recuse himself. The appellate courts will decide. No doubt Trump will bring his circus to town and the media will be fawning all over him.

I dunno, TT, about incompetence at conning. I mean, you gotta admit that even though all his businesses fail, he still ends up able to fleece a yuge number of rubes in America as well as rubes who run other autocracies. He ends up with big piles of other people's money. While he most likely will end up in jail, he's had a good run spending other people's hard earned kopeks, rubles, and so on.

A con artist is (to me and some others) the definition of failure and incompetence as a human being. One could argue that a parasite is efficient or effective at its established purpose but we human beings do not value parasitism for mere survival; that is not our definition of thriving. As in a ponzi-scheme, all con artists are destined to failure even if they appear temporarily successful in the moment simply because they have structural failures at the core foundation of their being.

A successful parasite rarely kills the host. Maybe America noticed the blood sucker securely fastened to a heretofore unnoticed section of our anatomy. Even in his waning and hopefully numerous years spent in prison, he'll still be supported by others. May our support of P01135809 outlast his last breath.

Jack Smith torches Trump's 'plainly wrong' bid to delay docs deadlines

Special Counsel Jack Smith Sunday smacked down Donald Trump's effort to ask Judge Cannon to delay certain deadlines in his classified documents case, citing the criminal hush money trial he is facing.

One day earlier, Trump moved to use his upcoming criminal case in New York to seek a delay on disclosure deadlines to reveal information to Smith. In Trump's hush money trial set for Monday, the former president stands accused of falsifying business records to conceal a "catch-and-kill" scheme aimed at influencing the 2016 presidential election.

Smith's response to Trump's delay bid came the next day.

"This Court set the May 9 deadline fully apprised of defendant Trump’s New York trial. Although the defendants’ motion reads as though the Court were unaware of Trump’s other case, and as if the defendants had no forewarning that a Section 5 deadline would be set, those premises are plainly wrong," Smith's motion states. "The defendants have had ample notice that these deadlines would be scheduled and have already had months to complete the work. The cases the defendants cite to claim a constitutional right to postponement are inapposite for these reasons and others."

Smith goes on to suggest that Trump's pattern of delay "must stop."

"Each time the Court sets a new deadline in this case and attempts to keep it moving toward trial, the defendants reflexively ask for an adjournment. That must stop," the brief says. "The Court should deny defendants’ motions to continue the May 9 expert witness disclosure and CIPA Section 5 notice deadlines."

National security attorney Bradley Moss used a fire emoji in describing the reply.

"Smith’s team snaps back at Trump for trying to indefinitely postpone the [Mar-a-Lago] docs proceeding, saying that Trump has had months to prepare for the pending CIPA deadline, he has local counsel who can sub in while his primary lawyers are busy in the NYC trial, and basically begs Judge Cannon to put an end to Trump’s delay tactics," he wrote.

Now we can wait and see what Judge Loose Cannon has to say about this.

Trump prosecutors want Trump fined $3K for gag order violations — and jailed next time

New York County assistant district attorneys prosecuting Donald Trump asked for sanctions on Monday after accusing the former president of violating a gag order in his hush money trial.

On the first day of the trial, prosecutors signaled they would ask Justice Juan Merchan to hold Trump in contempt. They alleged he violated a gag order three times after the judge ruled Trump could not talk about the potential witness, court staff, or their families.

He then went on to call witnesses Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen "two sleeze [sic] bags" in a Truth Social post, along with other comments.

"Prosecutors want Trump to pay $3K in sanctions for violating the gag order barring extrajudicial statements about witnesses in 3 recent Truth Social posts," Molly Crane-Newman of the New York Daily News reported from the courtroom.

The prosecutor noted that Trump may have violated the gag order again that morning.

"It’s entirely possible it was done within this courthouse," he said.

Prosecutors requested a $1,000 sanction for each of the three violations. They asked the judge to jail Trump if he violated the order again.

Trump would also have to remove the offending social media posts if prosecutors get their way.

3K is just pocket change for the TOS. but it can add up because he can't stop violating gag orders. He just can't help himself for verbally and now writing attacking people he doesn't like. He probably has been this way since before he started school. He uses the attacks to make himself feel superior to others. I would lay odds if he was really psychoanalyzed, they would find an inferiority complex a mile wide.

'There will be an arrest': Trump gets stark warning from hush money judge

The judge presiding over Donald Trump's hush money trial issued a stark warning at the start of the proceeding.

Judge Juan Mechan told the former president he must attend every day of the trial, which started Monday, or face arrest, reported NBC News.

"If you do not show up there will be an arrest," the judge told him.

The judge addressed Trump directly as he also explained that, though he was expected to be present, if he misbehaved during the proceedings he would be removed.

If that happens, he will be potentially arrested, and the case would continue without him, the judge said.

"If you deliberately fail to appear in court when required, then any proceeding in your case, including hearing, trial and, if you are convicted, sentence, can and will continue in your absence," Merchan told him, according to a court transcript.

"A warrant for your arrest will be issued and you will be subject to separate prosecution and separate punishment for bail jumping, no matter what happens in this case."

The judge also warned him that the trial would continue even if he was jailed for contempt of court or other charges.

"If you deliberately refuse to come to court when required, or in any way deliberately obstruct or interfere with the effort to bring you to court, then, any proceeding in your case, including hearing, trial and, if you are convicted, sentence, can and will continue in your absence," Merchan said.

The judge laid down the law in No uncertain terms to TOS. It remains to be seen if TOS follows the judges ruled. It would be the first time in his life that he would listen and follow the ruled.
