Re: Democratic Indiana State Senator to introduce bill to end state preemption
2The Indiana legislature is overwhelmingly Republican. The state senate has 38 Republicans and 10 Democrats and the state house has 70 Republicans and 30 Democrats. There are a few Democratic areas like Indianapolis, Gary, South Bend, Bloomington (Indiana University)... I'd say this bill just reinforces what Republicans always say, Democrats are after your guns. The Democratic sponsor is trying to impress his constituents that he's doing something for gun control.

Re: Democratic Indiana State Senator to introduce bill to end state preemption
3This type of bill will never fly, nor should it. You can't have pre emptions like that. Imagine if there were pre emptions on speech. Would not fly, nor should it. Any restrictions as laws stand now must occur at the state level with respect to guns. Of course, we don't see restrictions on speech at the state level with respect to speech that I know about. Why is that? On second thought, there are likely limits on LGBTQ speech in red states that I don't know about.
