Re: FPC, others sue California over new restrictions on carry
2The groups supporting gun owners have been preparing this for awhile knowing that Newsom would sign SB 2. Interesting that they filed it in US District Court in the Central District of CA, not the Southern District of CA. The Central District is the largest one in the US and covers LA, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The law firm representing plaintiffs is in Sacramento. And this only challenges where CCW holders can carry in CA.
That this Court issue a declaratory judgment that the specified provisions of SB2 are unconstitutional under the Second Amendment insofar as these provisions
prohibit a CCW license holder from carrying a firearm at the specified locations
challenged above;

Re: FPC, others sue California over new restrictions on carry
3Fresno county released data on its CCW program. 17,000 permits. 1 illegal carry location violation. That's it. Fuck Newsom for this law. It's fucking ridiculous.
Re: FPC, others sue California over new restrictions on carry
4So how much bloomie money is behind newsome?
Re: FPC, others sue California over new restrictions on carry
5You know, I don't even give a shit. I am done with the Democrats in CA. I will not vote for another one unless and until they drop this gun control shit. And I have never voted for Newsom.
23 fucking new antigun laws passed and signed this year (and it isn't as if CA didn't already have loads of them). The anti CCW one is blatantly unconstitutional and entirely persecutory. The microstamping one is as well. The existing microstamping law is currently enjoined and wasn't even appealed by the state. So the fucking Dems pass another microstamping law that will apply to all gun sales? Are you fucking kidding me?!
Apologies for the rant. I am enormously pissed off at my state government at the moment. Wasting millions of dollars to fight this bullshit in court over laws that do fuckall but chafe my hide.
Re: FPC, others sue California over new restrictions on carry
6I’m in agreement, won’t vote the anti gun ones either. Most of the candidates for Houston Mayor are dems, but a few of them might be be more anti gun than others. The position of mayor is officially nonpartisan. Still I worry about the kinds of municipal laws a really hot headed anti gun type would support. I will be reading carefully, but suspect I can’t support Shiela Jackson Lee even though I would otherwise like to.featureless wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 5:36 pmYou know, I don't even give a shit. 7I live in a red area of northern California, so all the locals are tinted red. Statewide I face very few choices for me that will make any difference due to my vote being diluted by the Big Dem machine. The only blue I voted was Biden against the orange menace. I knew CA would go for Clinton, and that it did not matter what I did then. I voted Biden just to ensure a non orange. Sux living in a red zone in a blue state, but sometimes it'll be that way.

8You do what you have to, but I won’t slit my throat to vote for a dem. Dems need to smarten up.
Re: FPC, others sue California over new restrictions on carry
9I never voted for Newsom and I never will. I'm a registered Independent, so I research candidates and I vote for the one that best represents issues important to me and that includes firearms. Newsom and the Democratic super majorities in both legislative chambers treat gun owners as second class citizens in CA. Those of you living in states not run by Democrats, enjoy your 2A freedoms.

10But Gavin is so pretty, and, due to his dyslexia, is forced to memorize facts so he can speak publicly. When interviewed about the Repub debate clown show, extemporaneously he dropped all seven dwarfs into the wood chipper. When the Dems need an attack dog, they'll call on him.

11I guess people are entitled to their opinions on pretty, I find his appearance not very appealing. Likely mannerisms and other subtle messaging just makes me on edge when I hear or see him.CDFingers wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 11:42 am But Gavin is so pretty, and, due to his dyslexia, is forced to memorize facts so he can speak publicly.
