We have a well, but it requires electricity to operate. Since we got “city water” it has fallen into disuse and probably needs all new pump and pressure tank. The old house down the hill and far away has a well that only requires muscle power to get a drink, but the road is too bad for vehicles and I am too old to carry much more than my own fat ass back up.
Living off grid may no longer be possible. Until 1865, we got along without commercial baby formula, now it is a life or death struggle to get it. I don't think I could survive without coffee.
My last official act will be to send an NBC 1 Report and sign off.

Personally I dislike being on stuck with city water. I wish I had my own well, attaining water rights here in the west with your land can be difficult.

28I have all “non-city” utilities and it sucks. Well, septic, propane. Propane cost me $5000 this winter alone. Septic pumps are always o e shit away from breaking. I can’t wait to move back to civilized utilities, like natural gas.tonguengroover wrote:One of man's most difficult tasks is moving water uphill.
