My Puppy Ate My Homework!

1
So, today, I'm putting my brandy-new Cub Cadet snow blower away for the season ("Summer-izing" it???) and I wanted to drain the fuel out of the carb...unfortunately, I released the whole fuel bowl rather than the drain, and couldn't get the bowl on again because the O-ring wouldn't stay. So I had to remove the cowling and disassemble part to remove the carburetor to be able to invert it...etc. I had the operator's manuals for the snow blower and the engine and I put them on the ledge next to the step. Meanwhile, the puppy was out with me. I here a crunching of paper turn around, and now I'm re-assembling "the Dead Sea Scrolls" as I'm trying to piece it back together!

Ya know they're predicting 8 inches to a foot of snow for PA, NJ and NY, right?:)

II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY
III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEHIND IT

Of course the O ring is gonna have a bitty bitty crack in it, so even after you painstakingly reassemble the bits of parchment and interpolate the missing bits to discern the options presented, even when you reassemble the parts perfectly, that bitty bitty crack makes you seek to enjoy a beer. My brother. Beer and repairs--they're a thing. Enjoy.

Snow: something fondly to remember in August.

Well, it's a new snow blower, barely driven by a little old man (me) on an occasional Sunday.
Actually, snow blower engines are all pretty similar and not too hard to work on--unless you throw a rod.

That was my Plan B.
We (the puppy and I) went outside looking for more scraps and I got most of it put back together. It's all the safety crap at the beginning but also the last pages, which are in French. So nothing really important would have been lost.

But my puppy REALLY ate my home work! :roflmao: (work...on my snow blower....at home!)

Haven't mowed a lawn in 24 years...I don't think they make that model anymore.
But just for grins where are you and how much? (and why are you giving it up?)

Nah. I just screwed up...mistook the bowl mount bolt for the drain screw.

On second thought, that's not a half-bad idea rather than trying to syphon the tank.

I'm seeing them go for about $500... I'd probably knock some off for anyone on this forum.
Hard to get it from P-town to NJ! But I miss having a lawn tractor. When we moved here I had a 42" Craftsman from the other house. Damn thing took a LOT of maintenance. But I had a plow with wheel weights and chains, a utility trailer, a leaf sweeper, and a fertilizer spreader. After a year I sold it all.
