I wish I could find the "Old Men Who Get Fat in Winter" team cycling jerseys. They seem to have disappeared (or everyone on the team got skinny) :)

Hey. Fat is flavor, and fat is what keeps us warm in the winter. In the spring, though, a waist is a terrible thing to mind, especially after a cold winter.

Yeah it's dorky but my kids love it and it's good exercise! I grabbed a full metal M16 that actually shoots pretty accurately and I use it for practicing target transition and mag changes/safety manipulation too. Fun toy for the garage in the evenings. Guess that makes me a dork but whatever.

I don't think airsoft is dorky. It looks fun. In Europe they do huge mil sims that are impressive to say the least. But I really don't need another expensive hobby. Guns, guitars, art and leather all cost plenty and since I walked away from a shitty job in Jan (oh how I wish I still had that shitty job) we are a single income household. Since I would prefer my wife not kick my mooching ass out into the cold (i joke, she would not) i try to keep expenses way down. I did bring up that airsoft might be a good way for her to get some practical gun handling in though. She disliked going to the range even before covid.

The milsim stuff does look cool, though I've never played on an actual field or venue. Back in college my buddies and I would arrange battles out in the coastal mountains east of Santa Barbara, CA. Tons of boulders and caves on the western slopes, good for search and rescue/extraction scenarios- once we even brought a friend on crutches who would literally have to be carried out by whichever team found her first... Fun stuff. But yeah, it's expensive... buying a nice airsoft AEG AR15 is damn near expensive as buying a real PSA AR15. Crazy. My wife doesn't truck much with guns either... but she doesn't tend to complain about my shit as long as I don't complain about hers, which is a fair arrangement. Today I'm loading up some 5.56 rounds and she's sewing covid masks for the neighborhood.

Honestly, I don't agree with the justification they gave for their "base line" gear as I have been to plenty of classes and not needed to wear military load-bearing gear, trauma kits, drop leg holsters and multiple rifle mag pouches. If they want to train in para military gear fine, but don't blow smoke up my ass and try to tell me it's for any other reason than because they want to feel cool OR that just maybe they are trying to keep up with the right wingers who are hard at work on their militia training.
This is as close as I get to social media right now, so, I'm not really privy to the whole Insta-Face-Twit -thing myself. All of the Hey, everyone! Like what I'm doing right now. I need approval and validation! -mentality is just exhausting.

It's a picture of a cool old door stop that was photobombed by the cat--who looks a bit grouchy.

Is this some sort of stump the new guy thread?
Are y'all talking about wildlife-wildlife or human 'wild life'?
Should I be asking whether or not armed otters and wolves are also difficult to photograph?
:newhere: :w00t: :roflmao: :sorry:
we're mostly just playing. or it could be a form of mental illness, looseness of association, psychosis.. you can play along or play it straight or choose not to play at all. since i've never seen an armed otter, i would guess that yes, they're harder to photograph, but nowhere near as hard as a snake, which has no arms at all. but then there are octopi, which have eight arms, and squid which have ten, so an armed squid might be easy if your camera is waterproof. see? it all makes perfect sense, if your mind can handle the abrupt twists and turns.
