Yeah, not a fan of Rubin or his YouTube guests. I have limited time on Earth, so I don't waste a lot of time with Rubin, or Candace Owens & Ben Shapiro. Seems like a few new members have a different understanding of libertarian than I do. I guess I am old fashioned.

"Libertarian" does not equal "liberal" anymore than "dog" equals "torque wrench".
as stated, Rubin does a decent enough job of explaining the situation, but I dont agree on many of his positions on things.

I wanted to also add that I do understand that the general trend is that things are shifting rightwards for a long time. its just that more recently, the polarization has become more and more apparent with the "mainstream".

To say that Trump’s win was a rejection of identity politics is to abet the very view that whiteness is the default for humanity. You wanna fall for the silly word games of the alt white; declaring that mentioning race is racist and that objecting to Nazi mobs is an affront to free speech, be my guest. At least have the decency to go so far as to read a history book or two, so as to be able to use terms like “left” “liberal” “classical liberal” “right” and “identity politics” in a way that aligns with what those words actually mean rather than how they are used by people who think Barack Obama is a Socialist.
I don't it's foolish bullshit, Marlene, I think it's deliberate DANGEROUS bullshit!
He repeatedly claims to be a "liberal" because he's for legalized marijuana and gay marriage, but fills his video with reactionary buzzwords that NO liberal or Progressive ever used that I have heard.
He is no Liberal and his descriptions of Liberals based on a few fanatics are total garbage--reactionary boogieman-ism.

In fact, he sounds to ME like a reactionaries who call themselves "Libertarians" (think Rand Paul and Paul Ryan). Calling himself a "liberal" tags him as a 5th Columnist seeking to infiltrate and invalidate the Left. I've been a Progressive all my life and while I've seen SOME who are dogmatic and closed-minded, most would write them off as obnoxious pricks.

Other than his multiple claims of being a liberal, this could just as easily have been a screed by Sean Hannity or Ann Coulter-geist.
