When Remington came out with the mag-fed 870 I wondered what the application was. Still wondering.

Consider, as an alternative, putting an extended mag tube on whatever shotgun you like and practice loading it quickly. Plenty of videos online for technique.

I'd bet for 3-gun you could move pretty quickly with one of those 20 rounders. I think max on a tube is what, 12? Be interesting to see a couple of folks who were really good with both to see who can run a course quicker- whether the mag or semi auto makes more of a difference.

Well, you can get between 7 and 21 rounds of ammo in a shotgun with an 18.5" barrel, with a full reload of 6 to 20 rounds in a few seconds.

Take a look at that video. He burns 20 rounds in about 3 seconds and seems kinda surprised it went that fast.

I have a Rock Island VR60, yet unfired. I can't wait for spring to come so I can unleash the fun machine. 5, 9, and 19 round magazines available, interchangeable chokes, AR-15 styling with carry handle, fully adjustable rear sight, distance adjustable front sight, picatinny all over the place, one piece lower/grip/buttstock, under 8 pounds unloaded, 12 gage, takes 2&3/4 or 3 inch shells, gas operated. I made a thread about it, there are videos there, as well as in the frivolous gun purchases thread.
