Before members who are long-time shooters jump in to give me shit, I would like to point out that many of us newer shooters, specifically like myself, became shooters BECAUSE of our justifiable paranoia. As I've said many times before: The morning after the shit-stain "won" his stolen election, unleashing every kind of bigot hatred, and accelerating hate crimes, we decided to become gun owners.

"Just because you're paranoid...."
Coincidences are always suspicious. They rarely happen nearly back to back. I’m buying a lottery ticket. There are things that said make me suspicious. Suspicious is good in my view.

Yup,

Twice is coincidence
Three times is enemy action

i have 2 email accts, one of which i call my spam account. a month ago i was getting 5 or 10 spams a day. then i made a terrible mistake, i tried to unsubscribe from one of them. mistake, because i've seen what happens before, and knew better. they may have unsubscribed me (who can tell?) but before they do, the sell your email address to other spammers. so now i get as many as 100 (yes, a hundred) a day. deleting them does no good, they just send more. using the ISPs "spam blocker" is useless, they have a limit of 500 domain names. the only thing that seems to work somewhat is to let the mailbox fill up, and then it begins to reject incoming mail. not very useful.

i get emails offering tactical flashlights, sunglasses, sunvisors, LED thisthatandtheother, reverse mortgages, hearing aids, asian/russian/ukranian brides, CBD oils to fix virtually everything, keto treatments whatever that is, weight loss solutions, "natural" "tricks" to cure ED (for the ukranian brides, i guess), those poor women must be desperate to get out, or maybe it's all just video chat porn and you never actually meet them. not that i care, with my luck i'd get melania's second cousin, twice removed.

this week i'm planning to wend my way through their byzantine system and cancel the account. i've had this account for at least 18 years, haven't gotten a real e-mail to it since settling my deceased mom's estate, nine years ago. so long, earthlink, it's been fun.

I deal with spam like this:

- Get your own domain name so you can create as many email addresses as you want.
- Create one "real" email address that you never give to anyone ever.
- Now create email aliases that receive mail and deliver it to the real email box.
- Give each website you sign up to a different alias email.
- If you ever start getting too much spam at an alias, simply create a new one, update the associated website, and delete the old alias. Voila! No more spam!
