n his roughly 30 years as a union worker, Jones said he’s received a range of violent threats, including warnings that he’ll be shot or that his home will be burned down. He’s not worried, though, and has no plans of staying quiet ― even as the threats continue to roll in. He wants other union leaders to continue to speak out, too.

Threats like these are nothing new, however, there has been a notable uptick in Trump-supporter initiated violence. It will be interesting to see if these threats bring new power and resolve to unions.

this is how it goes with rabid Trumpers. They have to threaten violence against anyone not perceived as in thrall to the stupid.

Examples abound.

That's just one. We saw #pizzagate, which Wonkette takes down wonderfully:

Many folks are self censoring. This is how it begins. We should oppose self censorship in the media.

Better impeach the VP first or we'll be trading a kleptocrat for a theocrat in Ayatollah Pence.
I second that. The VP is worse than the P

Funny in a strange way: the rabid Trumpers use the same tactics that the unions of old were infamous for.

I' m a life long union member, beginning with the Teamsters as a fork lift driver in 1971. But not in my experience have I seen the strong arm and intimidation tactics of yesteryear beyond picketing. I've never ever crossed a picket line but many times have gone up to the line and walked along telling them of which union I belonged to at the time. Walked away from the store or what not where they were picketing. I'm retiring in a union.

The false narrative of the old time strong armed union is nurtured by those who want workers at each other's throats, scrambling for the no-longer-minimum wage job, the only one that robots no longer perform.

This is the ideal environment to keep profits going up the ladder and the crumbs falling to those below. I don't like it.

Ive been in IATSE, stage hands. Worked part time off and on for years before accident. Maybe once a year at most with so many here in the call pool, and you only get full time if your related to a high up and someone dies. Lol

Also teamsters in good standing .
