My new Colts

Post by dbluefish »

Haven't been here in quite a while. Actually since Judgepacker painted my P85 and do not know if he is even still around. The P85 is and continues to draw attention when I take it to the range.

I have always bee a semi-auto guy, started with a Colt Woodsman in 1958(I left it with a friend at college and it is somewhere known only to the gun gods)

But I saw the new Colt Cobra and it drew me in and it is a great gun. The trigger is the best of any gun I have or had in the past. Accurate with wadcutters and it is one of my EDC guns.

However, owning a revolver started the process and I sort of lusted for something in .22 LR or WMR and so, ended up with a nickel Frontier Scout '62 from 1966 and a Colt New Frontier in .22 WMR blued and casehardened. They are a treat at the range as I learn to shoot them.

So without further adieu:

I must admit to having a few Colt revolvers as well as a few Colt semi-automatics.
To be vintage it must be older than me! Coming to you from Deep South Texas!

That case-hardened Colt is neat!

Help my ignorance: are those drop-safe, or empty-chamber type action?
