Why are they surprised? Donnie has never done anything that didn't benefit himself. Anybody not of immediate use to him gets thrown under a bus. Everybody who has been near him has heard him lie and knows it, and he has cheated everybody he comes in contact with, with the possible exception of his good friend Vlad.
While everybody hoped he would try to do a good job, by day 2 everybody knew that wasn't going to happen. But his people still seem surprised, and I am truly amazed at how many still want to kiss his hams in adoration. Post purchase dissonance at its worst.
You can fool some of the people all of the time. You can fool all of the people some of the time. If you fool enough of the people long enough to get elected, apparently a lot of them like it and refuse to accept reality-ever, even with proof they are wrong. Wonder how we got to the top of the food chain.

27That was everybody who hadn't figured it out when it was clear BEFORE the inauguration he fully intended to violate the Emoluments Clause.DougB1946 wrote: Tue Jan 12, 2021 11:20 am While everybody hoped he would try to do a good job, by day 2 everybody knew that wasn't going to happen.
And everybody who hadn't figured it out at his sick, awful bizarre Inaugural Address--Even Dubya knew it instantly, whispering to Hillary Clinton during the address: "The is some WEIRD shit, isn't it!"
"Even if the bee could explain to the fly why pollen is better than shit, the fly could never understand."
Re: Trump staffers whine that his riot has destroyed their reputations
28Some people pretend to be human being by saying they are shocked by the loss of life the president’s riot in the Capitol caused; life on their side of the isle, no lefties were involved, and two police officers died! Some would grandstand on this and step away claiming despair.
Other’s openly, shamelessly whine about their future job prospects as if there is nothing wrong with that now.
This makes me wonder whether we are so cynical to believe that all Conservatives have sold their soul to the devil just for temporary power and prestige. Have we been disappointed so often by those on the other side that we no longer hold them to account for the most basic standards of human behavior?

"It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of non-violence to cover impotence. There is hope for a violent man to become non-violent. There is no such hope for the impotent." -Gandhi

29Yeah, they seem to forget the many Americans who mourn the loss of loved ones. Maybe if they showed compassion, they wouldn't be confused with sociopaths? Hmmm...Bisbee wrote: Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:11 pm Some people pretend to be human being by saying they are shocked by the loss of life the president’s riot in the Capitol caused; life on their side of the isle, no lefties were involved, and two police officers died! It is an unfortunate human failing that a full pocketbook often groans more loudly than an empty stomach.
