Signs of the End Times: Salt Lake City Indicts a Police Officer

Salt Lake City District Attorney Sim Gill announced the aggravated assault charge on Wednesday. He alleges that officer Nickolas Pearce did "attempt, with unlawful force or violence, to do bodily injury to another" during the April 24 encounter with Jeffery Ryans.

Gill told The Salt Lake Tribune that Ryans "wasn't resisting arrest" when Pearce ordered the police dog to engage the man.

"He certainly wasn't posing an imminent threat of violence or harm to anyone and he certainly wasn't concealed. He was fenced in an area and was being compliant," Gill said.
I would like to think that Pearce was not trying to provoke a violent reaction that would, in his mind, provide legitimacy to a use of deadly force. But I can't.

Blue Salt Lake County in the red sea of Utah.
Officers were responding to a report of domestic violence when the incident took place, according to Salt Lake City member station KUER, which added that Ryans' injuries were so severe he required surgery.
Millions on top of millions spent on body cams and no one reviews them unless there is a complaint made or a lawsuit filed.

The police video was disgusting. It seems to depict abuse of power and breeds mistrust of police authority. Injustice and cruelty always fuels my anger. That department has a lot of work to do in order to rebuild the trust that this incident may have burned in the community.

Cops are like the rest of us, mostly good, but some really terrible ones. It is inevitable that a dedicated bully or sadist would seek a job in law enforcement where the badge always stood between your hateful acts and justice. It is the same reason that a sexual predator might seek out a job as a camp counselor.

I am not sure but that there should be enhanced penalties for cops who abuse people for personal reasons.

Maybe send them to the general population of prison with COP tattooed on their foreheads. Just joking here.....;)
