Sharps.

This is my wife's new baby, not mine. She's good at sniffingout these old guns.

Original Sharps New Model 1863 made in 1863 according to the serialnumber. Still in the original .52 caliber blackpowder loading, not a cartridge conversion. Needs a little bit of work, but she got a phenomenal deal on it. Needs a new lever spring & screw, nipple, & general maintenance. I'm pretty sure that the forearm & barrel band are replacements.

She's got a bullet mould on order already. 54 caliber Richmond Laboratory pattern. Plans on making paper cartridges.

I'm noticing a trend in her firearms choices, they keep getting older. She's got her eye on a flintlock next. Then I'm expecting a wheel lock or match lock. Possibly a hand cannon at some point.

She gave 1500 for it. Was on consignment or I would have haggle with them. Course I'll argue the price of ice with an Eskimo.
Bullet mould was 70 ish shipped. Small parts are gonna be another 50 ish.

Finding percussion caps hopefully won't be to difficult.
