Probably the best book ever written on the subject, actually does what Franklin W, Mann set out to do in The Bullet's Flight but with much greater scientific rigor and building upon another 75+ years of others' work.

It is interesting that modern gun "experts" seen to think the plastic tip bullets which don't deform are more accurate. That concept was definitively debunked by testing in the "Bullets Flight".

6but there is something to it: BC variance with irregularly formed open-tipped bullets can be detected at longer ranges as an increase in vertical dispersion simply because of variable velocity loss over distance. It is only relevant in a very small area of specialized shooting, but that small area is currently occupying an outsized portion of the public imagination as influenced by current marketing trends. 7It is at least 99% Marlene. I hunted for 30 years and even worked as a guide near W Yellowstone, MT and never needed more than a 4X scope, but people think they need at least 4-16X to hunt.
