Son went to Cabela's on Sat and Bass Pro on Sunday.. LOTS of 9mm, 38spec, 223, 357, 45acp, 40cal. (Denver)
$.30 per for 9mm, about $.60 per for 223...$.50 per for 38spec. I think the naysayers are seeing the sky isn't falling with Biden as POTUS..

Haven’t done business with this vendor but they sent the order very quickly.

104I think $75 and up is free. It’s something like $230 for 500 bulk S&B 124gr 9mm FMJ.tonguengroover wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 5:20 pmHow large an order for free shipping?Northern wrote: Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:43 am I just ordered S&B 124gr 9mm for $0.46/round with free shipping from here:

Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
105It seems weird to me, but perhaps someone can explain it.
I watch AmmoSeek and WikiArms for ammunition pricing a couple times a week, along with GunJoker. I'm seeing a distinct lag between the prices some of the big sellers that the former two poll and the auction pricing on GunJoker.
For example, today (16 August), I see pricing on MagTech 9mm 115gr target ammo in the 35-cents-per-round range on AmmoSeek, but it's closer to seventy cents a round or even a dollar a round on GunJoker.
I see a similar gap on 5.56 ammunition, too.
Since I only keep those two calibers myself, those are the only ones I really watch. I suspect that .40 caliber is just as bad.
What gives?

Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
107Looks like .45 ACP is down to 0.70/rd for FMJ across the board at mine, similar for most other handgun rounds if they're in stock. More boutique options like .45 Colt or 5.7x28 are double that. 9mm is down to the mid-50s, .22LR around the 20s. Defensive ammo has been close to normal for a hot minute, but it's behind the counter, not on the shelves. I didn't check closely at the big box, but it looked like they finally restocked.
Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
108If I thought the gunjoker market would sustain that...

Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
1099mm prices seems to be fluctuating between 0.40 and 0.60/rd but I have consistently been able to find decent FMJ at 0.40/round online using Ammobuy. I’m also starting to see .45 ACP at under 0.60/rd. 5.56 and .223 pricing appears to be all over the place but target loads are generally 0.60/round. Hunting loads are appearing on local shelves lately. 7.62x39 steel cased is around 0.45/round. A friend at a LGS said in his observation, people are starting to hoard again, so perhaps supply will become more scarce again. :/

Less eye strain from propellant that ignites after it leaves the muzzle?
Fewer jams?
Fewer 2nd deg burns from steel shells?
Fewer clogged firearms?
Less money for Putin?

114I have a hard time with "God, Guns, and Family" as a channel title. He has the order of importance reversed, and as one who was turned away by religion as a pre-teen, that deity is WAY down the priority list. Even if one is a believer, the channel title sounds too reactionary to me.tonguengroover wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 11:31 am Couple news posts on ammo shortage. I like this guys You tube page.

I've watched a few of his videos over the last year, and it's hard to glean useful information with all the chatter. Like many gun-focused channels, the signal-to-noise ratio leans toward people liking to hear themselves talk without much content.

I don't take it personally or too heart. Sorta like Lawyers Gun And Money. Just a title. He's very concise when doing gun reviews with some back ground history usually. And best of all no politics.
Heck, I never even heard about the ammo heist.

Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
117In Houston, Tx. Academy Sports and Outdoor is selling 9mm FMJ for $18. for a box of 50. That works out to be .36 cents per round. My local Walmart used to sell 9mm really cheap around $11.00 for a box of 50. Now they don't sell any ammo for handguns at all. Academy is about the cheapest I have found here.

119You all are finding some good prices. I’m seeing $23-25 for 50 9mm around here. It’s like it went down for a while then back up a bit.
Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
120I recently got 100 rounds of .380 from Midway for $65, and that includes shipping and taxes.
Today I was at a range and they wanted $1 a round, though, which was way more than I was willing to pay.

121I bought 100 rounds of 9mm at Academy Sports and Outdoors for $36. I never buy ammo at a gun range - they are always way higher than anyone else.
Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
122Yeah, I know ranges are higher, but this one used to not be that bad in the pre-Covid days. But that time is a distant memory, now.

123Oh, I just went to order more ammo from Midway and that $65 did *not* include shipping and taxes. Also, their price has since gone up to 80 cents a round

Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
124California ammunition purchases have to be screened by an FFL willing to provide the service. Midway will not ship to California FFLs unless the FFL makes the purchase in their business name. I have had other vendors use my FFL as a shipping address for my ammunition purchases, but Midway has over-cautious Legal counsel.Eris wrote: Sat Nov 20, 2021 9:56 pm Oh, I just went to order more ammo from Midway and that $65 did *not* include shipping and taxes. My most recent purchases at local stores were CCI .22lr Stingers .26/round, CCI .22lr AR .113/round.
Re: What are you paying per round at the moment
125Californians especially should get set up to reload, if only to avoid that ridiculous FFL nonsense for ammunition. This is as much about ammo availability, without having to beg the state, "mommy, may I?", as it is the cost. The lower price per round when you roll your own, in this case, is simply a nice bonus.
