Failed gun control bill reintroduced by NH Democrats incites passions once again
Nonetheless, his staff said he “wanted to keep the conversation going,” said State Rep. Katherine Rogers, D-Concord.
“A waiting period will not stop all acts of senseless violence, every suicide, and sadly it won’t prevent every shooting, but does that mean we just stand by and watch the violence continue?” Rogers asked the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.

“For those of you who say New Hampshire is the safest place on the planet, take off your glasses and read the headlines. We do have violence in this state.”

SB677 Protective order for vulnerable adults bill is championed by Republican Senator Jeb Bradley and supported by Sununu. It is poorly worded and has 4A and 5A problems.

Worman v. Healey addressess both AWB and magazine capacity.
Issue: Whether Massachusetts’ ban on the possession of firearms and ammunition magazines for lawful purposes unconstitutionally infringes the individual right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment.
Sitting in limbo at SCOTUS. Come on, SCOTUS. Do your fucking job. This shit is getting silly. There is abundant evidence that both "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines are in common use for lawful purposes and are not dangerous and unusual. This should be as simple as Cateneo.

HB1509, the student ERPO bill, is on to the Criminal Justice Committee after a 10-10 split on recommending it.

House Democrats passed HB1101.
Handgun waiting period bill clears House
The 184-134 vote sent the measure (HB 1101) to the state Senate, where it is also likely to be adopted.
He said the waiting period could cause people to think twice about buying a gun to hurt themselves.

“Waiting periods do not take guns away from anyone, and they do not restrict gun ownership in any way,” Newman said.

The waiting period would not apply to the purchase of a rifle or shotgun as long as the buyer had completed a state-run, 16-hour hunter education course.
Eventually, Democrats will call that a loophole.

HB1660 is being fast-tracked as an emergency bill so Democrats can avoid any debate on it.

Actually more than 10 round capacity has been around since 1860. The 1860 had 16 rounds capacity. Not a detachable box magazine, but more than 10 round magazine none the less. the tubular magazine of the lever rifles of post civil war lead the way in "large capacity"

Gatling guns experimented in the later 19th century with early box magazines of "large capacity".

1918 saw the BAR with it's modern 20 round detachable box magazine.
come C96 pistols in the 1930s had detachable box magazines, 10 and 20 rounds
the Thompson sub guns from 1918 on had 20, 30 detachable box magazines as well as 50 round drums
the browning high power introduced in 1935 had a modern detachable box magazine of 13 rounds

these are just some highly common firearms pre 1950 that had "large capacity" that jumped to mind. I am sure a more careful study would find other common firearms with "large capacity" magazines that fit common use and not unusual. We should also be clear that while these days something like a C96 is "unusual", the technology / principles behind it is not.

Don't give the gun banners/magazine banners misinformation ammunition. semi automatic rifles and "large capacity" magazines are not anything new and have been in common use for at least 100+ years, and as I point out depending on how narrow you want to be for what "large capacity magazine" means, goes back to at least 1860.
