Sierra polymer case .308's

True Velocity and Sierra Bullets have partnered to introduce composite cased commercial ammunition that should be available in 2020. The cartridges will be composed of True Velocity’s steel-base polymer cases loaded with Sierra bullets. This ammunition will be initially available in .308 Winchester with more caliber options such as 6.5mm Creedmoor to be added in the future.

When I see them in the wild, I'll snag some and see what they do.

An actual post about the cases: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/202 ... a-bullets/

TLDR - cheaper, lighter weight, better thermal insulation properties. The primary target is for the military who cares about things like weight and sustained fire. Also I remember and article back in the day saying they wanted to switch to non-reloadable because in places like Iraq insurgents were picking up the spent brass and reloadng it.

Thanks for putting up the link. I edited the OP and put it in. I posted before sufficient coffee.

Yeah, I think it's more for the military to be able to carry more ammo in war.
