I was prepping a bunch of fired .308 brass just now. I must have scooped up someone else's brass by mistake (sorry!). Just for fun I thought I'd throw out a pop quiz to the forum. Identify this brass.
Markings are HXP 77.
I know what it is, but first one with the answer gets...gets...
ok gets nada but bragging rights. Who here is the Know It All?
Re: Identify this Ammo!
3Marlene beat me to it.
This one's pretty easy for anyone who has bought surplus M2 Ball ammo from CMP in recent years. It's all Greek manufacture from the 60s-80s and carries that HXP headstamp. (The "H" is for the Greek word for Greek, cognate to "Hellenic".)

5Indeed! Marlene is our grand prize winner! Well done.
The Greek surplus stuff is pretty popular right now amongst Garand shooters.
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts of Ouzo: they're up to no good.
