Water Filtration Systems

1
After seeing the water supply contaminations in West Virginia and such, I am wanting to beef up my water filtration capabilities. Currently, I just have a few bottles of those purification tablets that only make the water safe biologically. I really want something to filter out debris and chemicals (if even possible). Do you guys have a good suggestions?

I've got two of the lifestraws in my car bags. They're decent enough.

Personally I'm a fan of the ceramic filters. You can basically put swamp water through them and drink it. I've got a small travel sized filter system, based off of the berkey design, as well as having installed an under sink filter for our home drinking water. After seeing some scares with local water supplies and some hotel tap water that I wouldn't let my dog drink, figured it was better safe than sorry. Plus I'm not a big fan of bottled water for environmental reasons. (And the oversight on them is worse than municipal water treatment plants)

Here's what I use at home:

With one of these in it:

On the road, I use this:

I use the filter with the carbon embedded in it which is supposed to be one step up.

Specs state this:
Filter effectively reduces:
Pathogenic bacteria
Parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium
Particle contamination down to 0.5 Micron
Chlorine taste and odor, Herbicides and Pesticides
The coconut and carbon core are supposed to aid with chemical reduction-

I have Lifestraws. They’re great for backup filtration.

Sawyer SP 149 Personal Water Bottle Filter, HERE: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005SO ... UTF8&psc=1

Sawyer makes a line of practical, effective and affordable filter products.
I have a Sawyer too. It’s in my bugout bag. Better than a Lifestraw.

at last! relevant spam! welcome to the forum! your english is quite good. what do you shoot?
from your avatar, i'm guessing you're in india. if you don't mind, i'm interested in how this works. do you search the web looking for posts relevant to your product, or does a computer program search for it? do you have multiple products that you can post about once you find a relevant post? seriously, how does this process work? oh, and how much does it pay? will it be enough to pay back college loans?
or is it a case of "wham, bam, thankyou ...." where you post and never look back? seriously, i'd like to know.

durnit, someone deleted his post. guess i'll never know.
i'm retired. what's your excuse?
