Hello from the SF Bay Area

#1 Post by KeltonCA » Tue Jul 02, 2019 12:53 am

Kelton here from Menlo Park, CA. It’s a somewhat open secret that a lot of us tech nerds like guns... even some of the liberals like me :)

I mostly like lever actions, but I have a few AR’s because ZOMBIES (especially the kind that invaded Charlottesville a while back).

I get a big kick out of big bore guns (pun intended!)... I shoot 45 ACP, 45 Colt, 45-70, and 458 SOCOM.

I reload a little bit and shoot a few times a year up at Los Altos Rod & Gun.

I aspire to someday hunt for meat, but to date the only thing I’ve killed are conversations with gun-fearing liberal friends.

Howdy from Oakland. I like stopping at Ann’s diner after morning shooting at Los Altos.

Well, lessee...

Levers:

2x Marlin 1895's in 45-70
3x Win '94 in 30-30
Win '94AE Trapper in 45 LC
early 1900's Win '92 in 32-20
early 1900's Win' 73 in 32-20
Marlin 336 in 30-30
Marlin 39A Golden Mountie in .22

That's from memory ... might be missing something. ;)

Other stuff: Cimarron Lightning in 32-20 / 32 H&R, Uberti Cattleman El Patron in 45 LC, a couple .22 semi-auto rifles, various EBR's I've built in 5.56, plus one in 458 SOCOM and one in 45ACP (and some of them LH!), the odd 12ga shotgun or three, a couple 1911's, an M1 carbine, a Springfield 1873 cavalry carbine trapdoor, a pump .22 that was my great grandfather's, a Ruger Standard (aka Mark I) that was my grandma's, a Hi Standard Model D that my dad carried when he was in the Boy Scouts... :hmmm:

So yeah, I'm definitely liberal and armed.

Welcome from sunny South Florida! I'd give you the normal disclaimer about us being a bunch of enablers in here but as I can see you don't need our help in that department

The wolf came in, I got my cards. We sat down for a game.
Cut the deck to the Queen of Spades, but the cards were all the same.

Hahaha, yeah. My dad was the real enabler. At least half of my arsenal was inherited from him when he passed a while back. He was the one who raised me right, teaching me how to handle and respect firearms. Too bad he never noticed I was left eye dominant... it was only after he passed that I figured out why I was such a lousy shot. Now I’m just a bad shot. ;-)
