LOL. Nice thread title! Howdy from Seattle.

The only alternate sources I use when advice here is too sparse are Rimfire Central or The High Road. RC pretty much has a no-politics policy, and THR is pretty light on the horror, too. Some of the THR mods are at least sane, if not secretly liberal (at least by the standards of gun fora).

Once in a great while, I feel the need to gawk at the abyss and I'll go lurk on the politics subforum at the M@rlin Owners group. Those people are almost as unhinged as ARFcom (and probably even more religious).

Thanks for the tip. I've never registered on those sites and only view then occasionally when a Google search takes me there. Maybe I'll take a closer look. Despite the horrors on ARF, the reloading section tends to be mostly sane (mostly) and the only place I spent much time. Lately, however, the more prolific posters seem to just parrot their own bias and never actually read what someone is asking about.

Rimfire Central is pretty good on not being political. If you ever get interested in S&W, the S&W forum is good if you stay in the gun sections.

Hi from NJ!
This place is insane and crazy because we insist on being fact-based! How nutty is that???

Wait, what? Facts? But I have so many half-baked conspiracy theories that explain so much. If you make me get all factual they kind of fall apart.

The S&W forum "Guns for sale" subforum is currently my favorite place to endanger my bank account. I was sorely tempted by a .41 Magnum revolver and a couple of S&W Model 41 .22s there last summer, and finally bought my 1911 from a guy on there a few months later.

I don't deserve a Model 41, but I regret not buying the .41 Mag.

That place looks pretty amazing. I didn't expect that in Johnstown. They must get people from all over shooting and shopping there.

It's nice. I try to go during the week and it's not usually busy. It's kinda expensive though so I wait for when they run 1/2 price deals. If you have a month with a lot of free time though get a trial membership. Shoot all you want all month.

ARF dot com . . . . . SMH
My first (and last) post there was in reply to one of the vendors posting a "Don't forget to vote" thread the day before the 2012 election. I replied, "Sure - I'll be voting for the candidate that never instituted an assault weapons ban."

The resulting dog pile was hilarious. :roflmao: Not too many fans of irony over there.

Anyway - Welcome!
