Yes, it's a shit show. I use it to stay current on laws but post very infrequently. By the way, there's a Featureless (capital F) there who is not me and I am not him. Rather different views, from what I've read.
For some reason, I assumed it would be a little more reasonable.

I know exactly what you mean. When I was a child, my mother took us to various Sunday Schools for a few years. When I asked her "what religion are we?" she told me that I was Christened as an Episcopalian but when I grow up, I could become a Whiskeypalian (where you find four Episcopalians, you will find a Fifth). And my mother, god bless her soul, was dead on.

As a result, I live in constant fear that the 18th Amendment will come back to haunt us. Thus guns ...

I’m 59 and I get it. If you find four Finns you’ll find a fifth as well.

I haven't seen a fifth for a long, long time. Replaced by 750ml bottles and the jokes don't work with them.

 i don't know what i am anymore. i used to be a left-leaning centrist, now i'm not so sure. the older i get, the better a little (more) socialism looks. maybe it's from hanging with you guys. maybe it's by contrast with the other side.
i'm retired. what's your excuse?

sikacz wrote:A big howdy and welcome! Congrats you made it to the intro section. Older dirt eh! Some of us perhaps most of prefer to know a bit more about an individual. It’s not personal. You’re not the first or won’t be the last to receive an intro request or two. At any rate, there are only a few ground rules and they are pinned. Some people probably never read them and do fine. Being liberal in all aspects including a full support of the bill of rights would be stupendous, but it’s not an absolute. There’s a few here supporting some minor regulations. I don’t support many other than existing. The bill of rights is a liberal instrument. Again welcome and get to know us. Some of might us might be jerks even later, but I promise to be polite. This is a liberal gun club page, expect liberals and some like me that are far left of you, probably way way left.

I’d let him be. Maybe slightly less badgering of newbies :)

Thanx inquisitor. Sikacz & i are good. Too old to have a thin skin & long ago endured a thorough hazing by the world's penultimate professionals on the subject.
& politically, i spent a year & a half on a corner every week for for bernie, so i don't know where that puts me in your spectrum. Only thing i take exception with is the idiotic idea that more laws will make criminals suddenly see the light, & that wpn type or mag cap has ANY bearing on crime. But what could an old cop know that 17yo parkland crime victims don't?

It puts you in good company. Lots of us voted for Sanders in the primary. Lots of us probably won't this time around, but who knows. So far, it's looking like a bunch of disaster candidates... Good on you for campaigning, it's more than I've done. But I also live in a place that will go blue almost no matter what.

Re: Introduction

Well, here in kali, it's about as blue as it gets, w/owning a unicorn mandatory (my rhinocodile ate mine. Don't tell the Unicorn Board!), where to own an AR, you have to spend a fortune to keep it compliant (though the AR Maglock & Kingpin are are clever combo), & make it less reliable in the process. Kamala, while AG, pulled the trigger on microstamping, freezing the "approved list", AND refused to abide by an exemption in the AWB exempting POST cert'd reserve LEOs from registering their ARs. Because reserve cops are such a threat to society. Since literally ALL the dems i saw in the midterms were endorsed by "moms demand stoopid stuff", i can't imagine voting for any again, leaving me with the problem of a russian asset in the oval offc., much of the reason i'm here, desperate to restore Constitutional goverance that i've fought to preserve over a long life.

Re: Introduction

Constitutional governance? I don't even remember what that looks like. Welcome to the 21st century.

Yep, we’re good. We were just getting properly introduced.
