What's your budget for this project? The standard CZs are pretty nice, but if you want to make everyone else at the range jealous, they have upgraded models that are VERRRY nice. I ended up getting a Dan Wesson 1911, mainly because I ran across one used at a nice price on the Smith & Wesson forum at *just* the right time (the S&W forum For Sale page is a good place to shop for things other than S&Ws), but I was really torn between that and the CZ Tactical Sport or one of these beauties:

They're a lot more expensive, but you do get many functional improvements, as well as the cool cosmetics.

I already made the purchase. I went with that CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical. The shadows are very cool, but it was hard enough to convince my wife to let me have a gun. Don’t need “it’s also $1200”. Lol

Good choice. The SP-01 tactical is an excellent pistol.

Yes, that should do very well for you! The fancy ones are really gilding the lily. Nice, but not necessary for good recreational shooting.
