"English" is a proper noun

4LOL. This is a rule of the Internet. Don't correct someone's grammar or spelling because you are going to make a mistake yourself.
Re: Hi Everyone!
7Me too. That and mis-pronouncing “nuclear.” To me, that is worse than the sound of fingernails on the blackboard.
Re: Hi Everyone!
9"English" can also describe spin on a billiard ball...and that's AFAIK, lowercase.
My personal bugaboo? When people pronounce "height" as "highth" instead of "hite". There's no "th" at the end of height, unlike length and width.
Also when they say "I-Ran" and "I-Rack" instead of "Ear-ran" and "Ear-rack".
(then there's the Brits who can't say "jaguar" correctly--"Jag-you-are" instead of "Jag-ware")

17I do like the fact that Lurker has inherited this thread by default since we nuked the spammer from orbit.... Gives me a warm fuzzy.

19Glad we've abandoned the trite, shallow issues of the day and are addressing something deep and serious!
