Greetings from Chicago

Hi all, I’m brand new here and to shooting in general. I’m a lifelong Chicagoan, socialist/social democrat policy wise, active in local political and mutual aid stuff. I’ve been doing a little research on hardware and ranges in my area, as well as any local kindred spirits.

Looking forward to learning from you all!

Hi from NJ. Been to Chicago numerous times. LOVE that stuff they call "deep dish pizza"! It ain't pizza but whatever it is, when the gods on Mt. Olympus get tired of ambrosia they send out for Giordano's!

Sleep is for the weak. It's me. I'm weak.

We've got a surprisingly large Chicago contingent. Any ideas what you'd like to shoot?
I’m in the middle of moving to a new house so my sleep schedule is all jacked up.

I want to eventually work up to an AR and/or AK; I’ve only shot like .22s in Boy Scouts (but I DID get the merit badge). I want to try out some handguns as well - namely cz-75 and p-10.

I’d also LOVE to get in touch with some other chicagoans on here! I don’t have many gun friends other than my cop cousins who don’t actually like guns.

Ah, my hometown. And, from the looks of your name, maybe my old neighborhood. I did undergrad at DePaul, and lived right on the corner of Fullerton, Lincoln and Halstead for a number of years.

My Chicago friends are willing to travel for a good range. They often go out to Aurora Gun Club. It's a great outdoor range, if you're willing to make the 45 min drive.

Welcome, enjoy!

Aurora is members only, unless they've changed something recently.

Man..... I drive 5 minutes down the road to a wonderful indoor range with great ventilation. I love the short commute. If I'm bored after work and want to plink in 150 rounds before I go make dinner, no problem!

Thanks!

I actually lived farther west along Fullerton, but I am very familiar with the DePaul area.

I assumed that Aurora Gun Club would be in Aurora, but I just looked it up and I am definitely mistaken.
