I'm looking at buying a Henry rifle - an Uberti, not an original or one of the ones made now by the current Henry company. Just too expensive.
But I came across this while perusing gunbroker today.

I just thought some other BP nerds would appreciate it.

2Heck, you should mortgage the house for that bad boy.

3If I was the type to mortgage for a gun, that would certainly be on the short list. Though TBH, I'd rather have something I could actually shoot (since .44 rimfire ammo still hasn't gotten back in-stock ).

4I've handled quite a few of those actual Henry's at my LGS. Very smooth, nice fit and finish. Sweet lookin' brass. Shot two, a .357 and a .45LC. More accurate than I. Didn't buy. Have a Marlin in .30-30. Emu egg for scale.

5The 336 is a classic, for sure. The current Henry rifles look really nice, but a few people that I know who have them - and one guy at the cowboy action group i shoot with sometimes can't get them to cycle reliably. I'm not sure what's up with that, but for the price I'm just not interested.

6Bid 10 beaver pelts and TWO bags of elk fat! After it IS a used gun!

Re: Just for giggles
7I'm all out of beaver pelts. I know where I can probably trap some, but the bags of elk fat are gonna be more problematic.

10From what I found one afternoon shooting a friend's steel-frame Henry .45/70, they seem to work best when you "run it like a rental". Cycling the action in a brisk manner is recommended, and as I recall, it prefers to be upright - cocking it to too far to one side or another also seemed problematic at times.RParker wrote: Sun Jun 28, 2020 4:32 pm The 336 is a classic, for sure. 13But it might be the right time to buy. You know, if you have an extra $20k or so laying around. They might budge some if they're motivated to sell.
