So been kicking around the idea of a pellet pistol for garage use, and am primarily interested in something CO2 powered so that it repeats as a normal semi-auto would. (Don't care about blowback, concerned with sight window and accuracy more so) Anyway, anyone have one of these?

Looks to be reasonably priced if it's accurate and durable, some of the lower priced stuff doesn't appear to be either? On the flip side, I'm not doing this for competition, just some garage plinking, would I be better served by just picking up one of the 357's? Haven't had an airgun since I was a kid.

2I have the S. nice pistol.
That said, a crossman 2240 is the best value for the money. And you can do all sorts of mods, including basically turning it into a 2300. Same basic frame.

3My neighbors kid has a regular pump up crosman. It's pretty accurate to about 15 yards. It goes from pick a letter on a can and you are able to hit it to it's hard to hit the can real fast. I don't know if the pellet starts tumbling or what the malfunction might be - never shot any paper with it. Just had as much fun as we could with it.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
4These pistols are only meant to go to about 10 yards.
The pump based 1377 probably can be accurate out to 15 or 25, with the right pellets.

Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
5Wow. For $50 ish bucks, that might be the way to go. I don't like the fact that it's single shot, but still.

6I grew up with a pump crosman pellet and a spring daisy bb gun- Fun little plinkers as well, but I'm thinking a pellet CO2 is the way I'm wanting to go, particularly for a pistol.JohnDeer wrote:My neighbors kid has a regular pump up crosman. 7The 2300 series are single shot.shinzen wrote:Wow. For $50 ish bucks, that might be the way to go. I don't like the fact that it's single shot, but still.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
8Well there's that. Glad I posted here and found that out before ordering one up! Makes the 2240 a no brainer.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
9I am going to get one of the pump pellet pistols. I shot some golf balls and shotgun hulls with my P95 yesterday. It was a lot of fun and I think a pellet pistol is just what the doctor ordered.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
11Went ahead and ordered it Now I just need to build a little trap box and will be good to go.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
13Hmm. Interesting. What kind of velocity do you get with those? Enough for rabbit hunting?
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
14Yes. Not chrony'd it, but the 22 cal is probably 700, and the 177 barrel is probably over 800 based on similar builds. The stock 2240 is like 500 with a 22 cal barrel.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
15Hmm.. Very interesting. My Umarex 22lr is not what I would feel comfortable small game hunting with, It's just not quite as accurate as I want. (It may be going up for sale here in short order, and that would free up some funds that are already allocated to guns, so..... hmmm)
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
16Oh, and have you tried out those TKO air brakes? For $45 it sounds like they might be worth it.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
17I have replaced the barrels, the breeches, the sights, added power adjusters, muzzle brakes, pretty much anything you can think of. Those are no longer 50$ airguns
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
18I have a Crosman Phantom pellet rifle. I shoots a .177 caliber pellet at around 1000 fps. It will kill small game but recommend limiting your shots to head shots. It just doesn't have the power or range to make a clean kill every time taking body shots.
Re: Crosman 2300t thoughts
19Whoops! Realized I forgot to post up after I got this. Nice little practice piece for the garage, went with the 2240 (Thank you Inquisitor!) and ordered the TKO air brake to go along with it. Man that thing makes a difference. Perfect for plinking practice and "seeing fast" in the garage.
