Just finished reading Cicero by Anthony Everitt. If you want to know what's going on in politics today and why, just read this book. What happened over 2000 years ago is a direct reflection of what is happening today. You could simply change the names and it would sound just like the last 50 years or so, especially the last 4.

Rereading (for the brazzillionth time) A Cantle for Leibowitz. I think this is the fifth copy of this book I've purchased. Either wore out or gave away the others.
To be vintage it must be older than me!

Most of my actual reading is work related, but I've started doing audiobooks in the car lately. Lot of driving to get to work.

So far this year:
- The Plague, Albert Camus.
- The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, William L. Shirer.
- Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World, Dan Koeppel.
- Lion in the White House: A Life of Theodore Roosevelt, Aida D. Donald.

Currently listening to:
- A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, 1914 to 1918, G.J. Meyer.

Yup. But honestly it is like so many sequels.

Then don't bother.

Next I hope to return to several I haven't reread in perhaps a decade.

Got this recommended by a local non-profit that focuses on anti-discrimination issues in the spirit of Black History Month. Incidentally, they are opposing essentially new state legislation aimed at relaxing gun laws, so I used this as an opportunity to initiate a dialogue with them about the racist origins of the Mulford Act and other anti-gun legislation aimed at disarming black communities. They are not convinced, but at least we are talking. Plus, I'm stoked about getting this book, so there's that.
