Y'all have my respect. Late in the afternoons it's tough even to work the beer opener.

I'm a UCSB grad. There's nothing standing between me and opening a capped beer.

Ever.

That is a different time frame than when I was there. But still easy. No. I don’t like extra lemon on anything

In some ways, all student ghettos have similarities, and Isla Vista had its flavor of that.

Gin and tonic. Tecate. It’s the lime.

Ha! No less a personage than one Geo. Washington stuck that moniker on the old North State.

Same here. Did finally get to a range (first time since February) on Thursday to renew my DEM range permit. Managed to fire some stuff downrange in a manner not too embarrassing. :D

I was thinking of driving 45 minutes up into the National Forest. I'd have to drag me wife along. "Hang on dear. Gonna visit the bushes." Would be just fine. It's the gunshots would cause the stink.

I guess that’s one benefit of living in Indiana, our ranges are owned by “true believers” in “freedom”. One range closed down for a couple weeks, the other just closed every other lane both in and outdoors. They’re both wide open now. Got some shooting in today, thinking about going back tomorrow and squeezing off a few hundred more. Got to put that annual membership to use!

Also, if you have a Dunham Sports in your neighborhood, check for pre-covid ammo pricing sales. Worth a shot anyway. 😬😉
To learn, you must be willing to challenge what you currently hold to be true.

We went and spent a few hours at the beach. State beaches are open again up north where the Bay Area hoardes can't reach 'em in a day trip. It was really nice, no campground hoardes either. Plenty of open space and sun. Shorts and a windbreaker weather.

Where is that? It’s not up by Patrick’s point is it?

I’m rebuilding the gazebo at my tenants’ place. We put some concrete in the tops of the block wall so we could anchor the boards to it. I used my .22 ramset nail gun. .22 shorts drive nails in. As close as I got to the range lately.

Today we are getting some muuch needed rainfall. This spring has been tinder dry. Tomorrow my wife and I will take our granddaughter out for a nice long ride in our UTV on trails close by. Pack a cooler with food and beverages and make a day of it. I know I need it, I'm starting to become somewhat unhinged.

Its pretty much always shorts and windbreaker weather in Mendo. Which beach?

My wife's family has a house in Fort Bragg we used to live in and still occasionally visit.

Van Damme. It's so nice along that stretch of coast.

It is indeed nice. Unfortunately, the only major industries are marijuana, tourism or marijuana tourism. Not that I have a problem with any of them, just not my skill sets.
