Using Opposing Thumb on Single Action

1
I have never tried cocking and rapid shooting using the opposing thumb myself but have seen it on some videos. If you are experienced in the method is it faster? Looks faster. I guess it would need a lot of practice to get away from my cocking normally. Any tips would be appreciated.

When I introduce new shooters, I use a Ruger single six and teach two handed grip and cock with the weak hand thumb. Because that way the gun stays pointed down range while they cock it. That's also how I shoot. Can't speak to speed.

OTOH, there's a video or article out there somewhere about how the SA was designed for one handed shooting, and its the modern two handed grip that has taken us away from "proper" SA form.

Hence the question. :)
