Bushnell TRS-25 Help!

Hey guys, I would really like to throw a red dot on my 870. My brother has a Burris FF3 on one of his Glocks and that little dot looks so much better than that big ole bead on my shotgun. Now I’ve dusted a lot of birds with the regular old bead but I’m wanting the dot now. The Burris would be my first choice but I can’t afford it right now so it looks like the Bushnell is another crowd favorite. So there was a TRS-25 https://tacticsfaq.com/sig-sauer-romeo- ... ll-trs-25/ on sale in the email from primaryarms the other day and it got me thinking about looking around and comparing prices. Well I looked on EBay and there are a ton of them on there in the $50 range. I was immediately suspicious they were knock offs. I also noticed they all had 399 reviews. Do y’all think these are all knockoffs coming from the same seller or have any of you tried one from eBay. If they are fakes I’m not really willing to try one just out cuz I hate the whole knockoff thing. You can’t hardly trust anything on the flea bay anymore lol. Thoughts?
Thanks.

Since a lot of the "TRS 25" red dots listed on eBay are coming from China directly, I expect they are knock-offs. Like you, I don't like knock-offs because a) they violate patents and copyrights, and b) they are crap c) they may give a fine product a bad name. The others on eBay SEEM to used or "refurbished" and they may be just fine.

One of my red-dots is a TRS 25 and the only issue I have with it is it's a bit clunky to use. Most have a part of buttons that allow you to raise or lower the level of intensity easily. The TRS-25 has a knob, about the size of a nickel, under the battery cover that you turn and has click-stops from 0 (off) to 11. Half the time you may loosen the battery cover. But, as far as I can tell, for an inexpensive red dot, they work very well. But, for $25 or $30,more, you can get it from Amazon.

I have a TRS-25 red dot that I use on my 870 for deer and turkey and it's pretty good. Someone told me red dots are prone to glare but I haven't run across that yet, so far so good. I'm a lot more accurate with that than with the iron sights. But $50 seems incompatible with the item.

oh, yeah, and when you get the chance stop in viewforum.php?f=37 , hit "new topic" and tell us a little about yourself, like maybe where you live and what else you shoot.

I have bought a few of them off Amazon for about $50-60. I like them because they are very light and decent quality for the price. I see no downside to them, but I wouldn't buy one on Ebay. Several reputable dealers have them on sale periodically. If you can wait for Black Friday sales, you can probably get them cheap. Or set up alerts on gun dot deals by price (that's how I get them cheap).

Bought mine from Midway. I wouldn't trust eBay, especially with the concerns you raised about the specific vendor. I have the sight on a Win. 9422 and it works just fine.

Just sign up for Palmetto’s mailing list, they occasionally have (genuine) TRS-25 on sale. I got one from them.

I know I'm a little late to this party (newer member, Hi!) but I have been using a Bushnell TRS-25 for a while now and I like it a lot. It has stood up to a couple of "oops" moments where I dropped it on the garage floor, and I've run it with at least 1000 rounds of 5.56 with no issues at all. Also put it on a 7.62x39 rifle for a while and it did fine. Mine holds zero like a champ and the brightest setting is great in sunlight. So-So battery life.
My fam bought me the PA SLX-MD25 Micro Dot for my birthday this year, so for the time being the Bushnell has been relegated to my AirSoft AEG M16 (my kids are obsessed, and as a good dad I must oblige by battling them). But honestly my airsoft gear gets beat to shit in ways that I'd never treat my actual firearms, so it's a sort of torture test for any accessory; the Bushnell has held up fine to a lot of jostling, being dragged around while crawling between cover, shot with bbs, etc.
Just my .02

It's cheap and clunky but it does work very well, IMHO, and a fine bargain item.
