Keeping kids safe around firearms, and teaching them to use them safely and responsibly, is a big task. If you’re a gun owner and a parent, it may be one of the most important things you do. That’s what we covered on last week’s episode of Training Talk, with special guest Barret Kendrick — Instructor and Dad.

We talked about how kids can live safely in a home with firearms, and he did a good job of dispelling some common kids-and-guns myths. He gave out some good pointers on how to deal with children’s natural curiosity, how to approach the topic of gun safety in ways they can understand, and even when to introduce children to shooting.

If you have kids and firearms, or maybe you have grandkids and are looking for guidance for their parents, this is an episode to watch and share.
