There are various groups that are both liberal and supportive of the right to keep and bear arms. On our home page, we have a list of them underneath “Progressive Gun Sites” that includes Blue Steel Democrats and Amendment II Democrats.
Now we can add one more.
Perhaps you’ve heard “This is the worst stuff on the Internet. There isn’t anything worse than this.” (Bill O’Reilly) What was he talking about exactly?
Daily Kos is a website thats driving purpose is to elect more and better Democrats. Right now you’re thinking Democrats and gun control and why is he talking about a lefty/liberal website now? (And you shouldn’t be! Remember those prior blog posts? Left/liberal != anti-gun or anti-RKBA.)
Well, I’d like to point all of you to one specific focus group: RKBA (Right to Keep and Bear Arms)
RKBA has been around for a couple years now. I’ll throw up the boilerplate here:
Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a DKos group of second amendment supporters who also have progressive and liberal values. We don’t think that being a liberal means one has to be anti-gun. Some of us are extreme in our second amendment views (no licensing, no restrictions on small arms) and some of us are more moderate (licensing, restrictions on small arms.) Moderate or extreme or somewhere in between, we hold one common belief: more gun control equals lost elections. We don’t want a repeat of 1994. We are an inclusive group: if you see the Second Amendment as safeguarding our right to keep and bear arms individually, then come join us in our conversation. If you are against the right to keep and bear arms, come join our conversation. We look forward to seeing you, as long as you engage in a civil discussion.
As always, if you’re interested in joining RKBA, message KVoimakas.
RKBA also has their own subforum here on the LGC due to some recent…issues…that occurred over on the Great Orange Satan (GOS AKA Daily Kos). If you’d like to become an RKBA member over at Daily Kos, you’ll have to sign up there and message me once you’ve signed up.
Discussion for this article is here and the DK diary discussing the LGC is here.
